subject: Energy:  Fight climate change in India- Two thirds of Greenhouse Gases emissions worldwide are due to energy production. Given that coal is India`s main source of commercial energy, we need to adopt clean-coal technologies to boost thermal efficiency in India`s power plants. It would mean smartly improving power generation with hardly any increase in coal consumption. In parallel, India need to design smart compact citieis that can greatly improve energy intensity by reducing transport, logistics and utility costs. The floor area ratios in our cities do need to be revised, along with supportive infrastructure. The way ahead is to have forward-looking green norms for buildings, industrial plants, automobiles and house hold gadgets, besides cities. Kind Regards!

India: Air India- Revenue Rs. 7,000 cr. Debt: Rs. 50,000 cr. Normal Govt policy on public sector companies is to keep ownership and policy-making separate,, but since new Aviation minster took over, this important issue was forgotten. Air India board needed management autonomy and this exactly what was kept in dust bin. The page in history shows that Air India was  a market leader, but today it has privilege of being no. 5 from the bottom (Jet, Kingfisher, IndiGo, and Spice Jet are occupying the above position at present. We wish the best for Air India and the Govt. of India (Aviation Ministry). Kind Regards! Sunder T

Recent visit of President Xi Jinping to India was a good memory. PM Modi`s compliment "India-China relationship to go from INCH to MILES was well said at the right time. Even on border incursions in recent times gave an opportunity to Modi to raise the matter with XI telling him, "Little toothache can paralyse the entire body. Now US is looking forward to receive this new leader from India who has created ripples in the world politics. Best Wishes. Sunder T.

Subject: Motivated people
At the Culture Works, we have learnt what makes people the most motivated and engaged in their careers. We found that when individuals are fulfilled on the job they not only produce higher quality work and a greater output, but also generally earn higher incomes. And those most satisfied with their work are also 150 percent more likely to have a happier life overall.
As we researched this subject for our new book What Motivates Me, what follows are seven things we found the most motivated, fulfilled people don’t do:
They don't chase the almighty buck (if that’s not what motivates them).

Motivation is not about doing what anyone else thinks is right for you, nor is it necessarily about chasing a job that pays well if money is not what floats your boat. It’s about aligning more of your work with what drives you. People differ enormously in what makes them happy—for some challenge, excelling and pressure are the greatest sources of happiness, for others money and prestige, but for others service, friendship and fun are more satisfying in a workplace. The trick is in identifying your core drivers and then aligning your work to do more of what you love and little less of what frustrates you.
They don’t wait for a manager to motivate them.
The truth is, very few leaders know what’s really motivating to their people or, even if they do, would know how to apply that information to their day-to-day work. Motivated individuals have discovered that the surest way to happier and more successful work lives is: first, understanding what drives you and then second, doing some sculpting of the nature of your jobs or tasks to better match duties with passions. That involves working with a manager, of course, but most motivated people lead this effort themselves. They take charge of their careers.
They don’t leave to chase a dream job.
There is a prevalent notion that if you’re unhappy with your work it will take a Herculean effort to change things, that you have to quit and find your “dream job,” for the vast majority of people, that’s just nonsense. That’s not to say motivated people never change departments or companies, and we all can appreciate that if an individual is completely miscast or miserable it’s not good for them, their customers, or their managers. But most people don’t need to take a risky leap; instead they need to start by making small but important sculpting changes in their work lives. Many of the happiest people we’ve spoken with didn’t find their bliss down a new path; they made course corrections on the path they were already on.
They don’t believe everyone is motivated like they are.
One of the traps most of us can fall into believes that other people are driven by the same things we are. We’ve counseled a bevy of frustrated teams on this issue. Perhaps the majority of the team members are what we call “Builders”—people who are focused on high-minded ideals like developing others, service, teamwork and a greater purpose. And most of those team members believe anyone who is not motivated in those ways is not a “team player.” But on the team are also a handful of people we would classify as Achievers, Caregivers, Thinkers and Reward-Driven, and these people who feel alienated and unappreciated. Great strength comes in recognizing and appreciating diversity, but we have to understand and utilize the motivational drive of others. For instance, the Reward-Driven can make a team more competitive, Thinkers help us be more creative, Caregivers encourage empathy and fun, Achievers make us more goal-oriented, and Builders help drive purpose and meaning. Most teams need all Identities in play to function at high levels.
They don’t focus inward.
The happiest people we found in our studies typically focus their work efforts in service of others rather than on self-gain. That may mean they achieve more or sell more or do more because they truly believe in their products or services and genuinely believe they are helping their customers by putting those goods in their hands—versus those who are simply striving to win a deal and cash a paycheck. It’s a subtle change in thinking, but it’s important. Psychologists also say most people perform at work better when they focus their energy toward serving their families instead of themselves. Thus, motives based on the pursuit of power, narcissism, or overcoming self-doubt are less rewarding and less effective than goals based on the pursuit of providing security and support for one’s loved ones, or being able to give of one’s gain to a worthwhile cause.
They don’t hang out with whiners.
We all know who they are: there’s typically a group of people who complain about everything at the office. If the boss pulls out her wallet and starts handing out twenty-dollar bills, the whiners will later moan that they weren’t fifties. The most motivated people avoid this petulant bunch. Complaining with no solution is a toxic habit. Sometimes making a positive difference at work is simply a matter of how a person chooses to think. We always counsel those troubled at work to look for ways to be authentically positive; for instance, publicly acknowledging a coworker’s accomplishment on completing a project. And even if it doesn’t help change the office environment, we remind them they can always do this at home: telling their significant others or kids why they are inspiring, always using specific language not vague platitudes.
They don’t compare themselves to others.
The motivated people we interviewed don’t waste a lot of time comparing themselves to those who have more; instead, they regularly express gratitude for the talents, resources, and relationships they do have, not to mention their health, their friends, their own brilliance, their motivation, and their family who inspire them. Everyone is happiest when they are thankful for the gifts they have been given, and that gratitude should be offered up regularly to those around them who support them and help them thrive. Psychologists are only just beginning to understand the healing and strengthening mental power of grateful attitudes. The most successful and happy people are frequent and specific in their verbal appreciation of not only their colleagues but also family members and friends.
Kind Regards!

Good news for Mumbaikars- MMRDA plans to bring 175 acres under Smart parking system at Bandra Kurla Complex which will save fuel and time and cut emission and will prove a boot for financial district which is growing by the day. The Internet speed will be 5 MBPS and operators may allow visitors free usage for the initial few minutes and then charge as per the prevailing market rates. The smart market concept will be implemented across all the 3000 parking slots in BKC. This project is aimed to save almost 19,000 litres fuel and 24 hours of carbon annually as a car owner will not waste time hunting for parking. Another plus point is the environment friendly initiative ie smart street lighting system. Around 90 CCTV cameras with video analytics-based technology will be installed to boost security in the financial hub. With the citizen portal, users can get information about cafes, or book tables in restaurants or rooms in hotels or locate a hospital or retail outlet.

Event before India's partition in 1947
Kuldip Nayar had checked Mountbatten`s premonition with his Press Attache in India during those days, Alan Campbell-Johnson, Cyril Radcliffe, who headed the Boundary Commission to partition the two Punjabs, and the two Bengals, and H.K.Khurshid, Jinnah`s Private Secretary,. All the three said that it was Mountbatten`s hindsight. However the rest of what Mountbatten told Kuldip Nayar is supported by the records he had maintained of various interviews and personal talks he had-as many as a hundred and thirty three interviews with political leaders between 24 March and 6 May 1947 alone.
Mountbatten recalled how he hd warned Jinnah that it would be very difficult to hold together the two wings with no land connection and 1000 miles of alien territory in between. "the Bengalis cultural ties are too strong; you know how Curzon tried and failed." (The reference was to the vain effort that Lord Curzon, as Viceroy, made to partition this should read: Bengal.) Distance Memories.01.050914
“Kuldip Nayar told Jinnah that his moth-eaten Pakistan will not last more than 25 years,” reminisced Mouttabatten, the last British Governor-General in India, on 1 October 1971 when Kuldip Nayer met  him at his sprawling mansion, Broadlands, near London.
It was nine weeks before East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, cut itself asunder from West Pakistan,  The two wings had hung like lobes on either ear of India since the partition of the subcontinent in the middle of August 1947.
Seventy-four years old and still with a phenomenal memory, Mountbatten was recapitulating a conversation he had with Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Pakistan`s founder, at Viceroy`s House in New Delhi on 9 April 1947 as if it had happened only the day before.
“You know, C. Rajagopalachari, the last Indian Governor-General wrote to Kuldip Nayer to other day to say that your (Kuldip`s)  prophecy had come true, and Kuldip replied that he remembered that distinctly,” said Mountbatten to emphasize that he should not be accused of hindsight.

E-commerce in India.2014- Indian e-commerce sites are growing rapidly because of two factors- access to unlimited capital and the ability to provide a long tail without the investment needed in inventory. American and European`s bulging pension funds are looking for a better returns on their capital and for them Indian market in e-commerce is the best target. Amazon is investing about US 150 billion which is 8% of India`s GDP of US 1.8 trillion. Today has three tigers who have entered in huge and unlimited e-commerce market, they are Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. Let us who wins in the end. With new government in power, this is an appropriate moment for these companies to establish themselves. "What you will see in the next five years is the most efficient transfer of wealth from rich investors to the lower middle class of India" Best Wishes for all. Sunder T

Digital India promises to transform India into a connected knowledge economy offering world-class services at the click of a mouse. The project that aims to offer one-stop shop for government services would use the mobile phones as the backbone of its delivery mechanism. The project also seeks to give every household in rural India access to bank account, along with a RuPay debit card and insurance cover of Re.1 lakh. Today India imports electronic goods worth Rs. 100 billion and by 2020, this import is going to be about Rs. 400 billion, outgrowing even the oil imports. On E-governance, Facebook has also expressed interest in partnering with the Indian government in delivering governance programmes. No wonder India is shinning now with lot of new things in the coming year. Thanks to Modi`s vision, and guidance to 1.25 billion people in India. Kind Regards. Sunder Thadani.

Mobile Wallet – 120814
http://www.Oxigen.com,
Cash can be delivered direct to the family at Rs. 1.25 per Rs. 100.
Each of the 700 million cell phones in the country besides millions of PCs and laptops are now like an ATM.
If an experiment of cash delivery through a phone-kiosk interface works within Reserve Bank parameters, the e-wallet could remove the use of cash and plastic in the coming years.
The volume of money transfer in India is about $30 billion annually, excluding other electronic payments such as credit cards and bank transfers.
RBI has authorized to the IMT (Instant Money Transfer) Payment System, under the Payments and Settlements Act. The transaction limit is Rs. 10,000 and it enables any partner bank account holder to send money (up to rs. 25,000 per month) even to  a person on his/her mobile phone, even if the recipient does have a bank account. IMT works on a simple 2FA (a software loop between the mobile number and the bank, which no one can penetrate) process, using a combination of a secret password and a PIN.
Where opening of a bank account poses problems due to KYC or other limitation, a mobile wallet would be a boon. Not surprisingly, India`s digital payment industry, is expected to touch Rs. 1.2 lakh crores by December 2014.

The word `disease` is often associated with ailment. However, it points to a state of dis-ease, both in body and mind. Moreover, the mind is so powerful that it can create any sickness in the body. This is hard to believe but true. Even scientific research today is proving what our sages said millennia ago. Therefore, a diseased body could be an indication that the mind is not `at ease` and this factor needs to be first addressed. This is what Anandmurti Gurumaa said in speaking tree on Aug.10, 2014. In this way, connecting to the godliness in us heals, nurtures and transforms us. The OECD, a club of rich countries, has done well to unveil a single global standard for automatic exchange of financial account information to combat money-laundering and tax evasion. It mandates banks, brokers, and fund houses to collect information from their clients and pass it on to their respective regulators. It is a matter of time with the G20 already turning heat on Switzerland and other tax havens.
OECD`s initiative will end the practice of MNC`s shifting profits to tax havens and avoiding payment of taxes in their homelands. As information exchange becomes automatic, companies will find it harder to inflict "base erosion and profit shifting" on their host nations. Kind Regards! Sunder T

Do you know that the most expensive election in Indian history? A staggering Rs 30,500 (US5.2 billion) was spent by the various parties and independent candidates on the campaigning in recent general election in 2014. (US spent $ 7 on presidential race - but you can not compare India with US). But you will appreciate that since Modi has won hands down, the expenses are worth the victory of BJP. Besides Modi, the CEO has the following guideline in his mind:
(1) Small cohesive cabinet with restructured portfolios
(2) Cabinet minister to be aided by 3-4 ministers of state
(3) Super PMO manned by sector specific specialist/technocrats
(4) Quasi-Presidential style of hands-on governance
(5) Bigger outreach to chief ministers
(6) Devolution of power to the states
(7) Empowerment of bureaucrats to fiz problems
(8) Govt. to be indulgent of the opposition, initially

Mumbai4u: Subject: Local train fare vs Tokyo, New York, and London
The commute by a suburban train seems to be cheaper than other modes of transport in Mumbai, and is also cheaper compared to train tickets in cities across the world.
WR general manager Hemant Kumar said, "Travelling by a local train could be as cheap as 11 paise per km and for the first class travel, 37 paise. For BEST buses, it comes to 82 paise per km and for AC BEST buses it comes to Rs.2.65 per km. Globally too, fares are higher in New York, train travel cost Rs. 11.80  per km, while it is Rs.18.90 in Tokyo and Rs.29.20 in London." TNN
For your information, Mumbai is going to be the 4th largest city in the world by 2030, next to only Tokyo, New York, and London. Today Mumbai is putting 40% of India`s taxes amount in the kitty. Kindly correct me and oblige. Thanks.

India as a nation is 67 years old, having gained independence from colonial rule, but in some ways we still behave like spoilt children who have yet to learn to accept the self-responsibility which is an essential qualification for being a full-fledged adult. If anyone dares to point out the errors in any of our ways, we bristle with defensive indignation, protective of our persistent immaturity, or refusal to grow up and accept ourselves for what we are, haloes, warts and all, the good and the admirable- and there are many admirable things about us, about what India has made  of itself- as well as the bad and the deplorable. Jag Suraiya says in his editorial column on July 16, 2014, in TOI -page16, col. 1&2, that the response  to his column could provide a gauge for our (India) maturity meter. Are we (Indians) finally growing up or we still growing down? The choice is ours. Kind Regards. Sunder T

1.The Indian youth today is more confident lt. It is fearless enough to choose the entrepreneurial route than      only chasing jobs.
2.The environment today is conducive to entrepreneurs as many incubators exist. Several institutes have created incubation cell too:
3.Funding is available from a variety of resources, especially angel investors and angel groups like IAN (Indian Angel Network):
4.The acceptance, as opposed to the past, of Indians as resourceful and innovative entrepreneurs has increased multiform, due to which globally, Indians are making a mark;
5.Social media is a great tool for entrepreneurs today. They help in generating instant feedback from customers and social media can be used execute additional marketing strategies;
6.The role of mentoring has not changed. Never underestimate the value that mentors bring-they help back then and they continue to do so.
Ajai Chowdhry, Padma Bhushan Awardee (2011) chairman of IIT-Patna and founder HCL discusses why the entrepreneurial landscape today is more conducive than what it used to be, way back in 1976. Subject:  New Prime Minister of India from 2014 onwards
India needs its next prime minster to have big ideas and push them through.
The new prime minister could reduce reservation in education and jobs by
1-2 % every year, which will help banish casteism from our society by 2030.
It is time for India to have such a transformational prime minister –one who
will modernize India`s cities, solve agriculture and water woes, break the
shackles of casteism, bring about manufacturing revolution and improve
government efficiency. Such an agenda can decisively alter economic
fortunes of millions while simultaneously revamping the social fabric of
our country. This is what said N.V Krishnakumar in TOI on Jan.08, 2014.

The human soul is not a just a passive spectator. It participates in our daily life by putting in a word in its shy and non-assertive way, but in a crystal-clear voice. The dynamic aspect of the soul is the psychic being.
Soul is like the president of India. The president is at the highest level, but for the sake of dignity of office keeping a distance from routine affairs. For dealing with routine affairs, he appoints a prime minister. The `Prime Minister` that the Soul appoints is the `Ego1. The ego has three `ministers`- the Body, Emotions and Intellect- to take care of different portfolios. But, like the president, sometimes the Soul also feels like putting in a word. The president has a secretariat to take care of that. The secretariat of the soul is the Psychic Being. Follow Ramesh Bijlani at Speaking- tree.in

Lokpal bill has kindled hopes of curbing graft, but more needs to be done to banish the menace of Corruption.  Nothing emboldens the corrupt more than the belief that there will be negligible or no consequences for their corrupt behavior. The Lokpal will, hopefully, contribute in some measures to create the nexus between crime and punishment.
The following steps are necessary.
(1)  Reform of funding and financial accountability of political parties.
(2) A systematic increase in the neutral intervention of technology into as many as possible where
the common man has to deal with government.
(3) Finalization of model legal framework ensuring transparency and fair play in all transactions relating
to the disposal and acquisition of national resources and government procurement processes.
(4) Instituting deterrent action in a time bound and exemplary manner for all acts of corruption, which
in turn, presupposes substantive judicial reforms.
The seed of corruption is the link between Politian’s and political parties and unaccounted money.
Anna Hazare has taught us that public pressure is a potent weapon in compelling reform. The onus to put that pressure lies on the people of India.

India is a funny place for business. Nitin Gadkari has proved it.
Which other country can claim such a distinction, which showcases
Not only multitasking abilities, but also socio-economic equality? Can
Barack Obama`s chauffeur take on the job of a company director even
while continuing to drive the US president around? Can Mitt Romney`s
driver do both such jobs at the same time? Nope, It`s only in India
where such inspiring success stories are possible
Drivers, peons, munims(Accountants),  astrologers, who are part of the Gadkari
network of companies have all shown a commendable flair for
business affairs and have been suitably rewarded with high corporate
office. Moreover, the BJP leader is not the only one under whose
benevolent disposition such enterprise has been encouraged to thrive.
Similar success stories abound right across India`s political spectrum.
The reason for his is simple. Unlike elsewhere, in India the danda (stick)
of the law is accommodative of `h`s, as in `hera-pheri`(cheating).  This small
inclusion changes the danda (stick) of the law into the business of dhandha
(business) as usual

Life is all about connections. Our mental, emotional, physical and psychic selves only establish connections, be it with nature, people of things. We don`t know how to relate to them. We do not build relationships. When we connect with consciousness and awareness with what is around us, only then do we actually relate to them. Bu we do relate to something and that is our selfish nature. Any action based on the selfish motive will not endure long.

When the vision of oneness, a higher vision, is absent it creates divisions in the family, company, community, nation and the world. Self-importance is the cause for divisions at any level. In a family there are conflicts, in a company there is manipulation, in a community there is fanaticism, in a country each state wants its own independence and internationally there are wars. This is all because of the absence of vision of oneness- one harmonious family, one strong nation, and one peaceful global family.

Stress is a disease of the 21st century. Everyone seems to be in stress from a child to a retiree.
What disturbs the mind? You believe a bad boss, nagging spouse or the weather causes you grief. The truth is that nothing in the world can disturb you except yourself. Stress is defined as mental turbulence caused by unfulfilled desire. As long as a desire remains unactualised you will be in stress. Yet desire is being recklessly fuelled and people are n stress.
When you rise above desire and work for something beyond, the object of desire comes to you. Then you can enjoy it thoroughly with a calm mind.
So what is the way out? The first step is to manage desire with intellect. If the intellect approves, go ahead and fulfill the desire without fear or guilt. But if the intellect vetoes it, keep away. This gives relief. The next step is desire reduction by upgrading desires. Pick up a higher desire. The lower one drops. Finally, when the lure of the Infinite grips you all desires vanish. You are in Bliss.

Fatwas issued by sharia courts or muftis had no legal base and hence could not enforced has created news in India. It came after a public litigation came up for questioning the jurisdiction of sharia courts, Supreme Court of India has clarified this and asserted that fatwas had no place in the country`s constitutions. One example on the subject is banning an all-girl Kashmiri rock bank, purportedly on religious grounds. Girls were compelled to disband their group due to community  pressure. On the face of it fatwas were harsh on women. Another example is from Muzaffarnagar, where a woman was raped by her father in law, and she was asked to treat her husband as her son. In modern Indian democracy, these things are taken as a serious issues as women has an equal status as per the constitution of India. Any such fatwas and other extrajudicial community announcements or rulings reinforce patriarchal biases and militate against reason and justice. Besides the danger is that these things can be easily manipulated to suit some people. Kind Regards.

There is lot of misconceptions about rape, which is why those concerned by the increasing
prevalence of this crime. Rape has nothing to do with sexuality as perverse as it may be.
It is the demonstration of the total dominance of men over all women, and is the
logical extension of an entrenched patriarchal society fighting against any form of
empowerment for women. Rape, the so-called `dishonoring` of women, who,  `belong` to an
adversarial group or tribe has long been an instrument of war, in most parts of the world.
By `despoiling` their women, the rapist besmirches the masculine pride of his enemies,
and symbolically castrates them by taking away their dominant manhood and replacing it
with his own

our attitude towards other in our workday life reflects like this “Day after day countless creatures are going to the above of heaven yet those that remain behind believe themselves to be immortal”. We believe that what happens to others will not happen to us. We apply different stands to evaluate our own behavior and that of others in all fields of activity.
The `other`, across cultures, has been seen variously as a friend- an extension of oneself- or as a foe posing a threat to one`s freedom. The other has been seen by some as deserving our concern or respect, by some as an opportunity for solidarity or mutual transformation, and by some typically as an unwelcome practical, political or cultural limitation. The other can be the ethnic, other, the cultural other, the religious other, the national other or simply the other gender.

Disposal income spent by men on grooming is growing at a faster rate than by women. This can be estimated from the fact that, most men`s personal care categories are seeing faster growth

Seriousness is a disease, but seriousness has been praised, respected, honored. It was absolutely essential to be serious to be saint; hence only people who were incapable of laughter become interested in religion. And people who are incapable of laughter are not human yet- what to say about their being divine? That is impossible- they have not yet become human. Hence I have tremendous respect for the sense of humor; for laughter.
Laughter is far more sacred that prayer, because prayer can be done by any one, It does not require much intelligence, Laughter requires intelligence. It requires presence of mind, a quickness of seeing into things. A joke cannot be explained; either you understand it or you miss it. If it is explained it loses the whole point; hence no joke can be explained. You get it immediately or you can try to find out the meaning of it; you will find out the meaning, but the joke will not be there. It was in the immediacy.

To attain wisdom, we must purify the mind by making It free of all impure thoughts. First empty your mind; only then you can make room for wisdom to come in. Prepare the mind to face situations in a way that enables you to harness its potential. Living with a mind that is narcissist will impede progress. A life that is full of ego leaves no room for receptivity as one thinks about nothing else other than its own self.
In order to receptive to truth, one must make the effort to be ready to recognize and receive the truth. Human beings have become conditional entities on account of habit. It is this conditioning that is a major obstacle on the path. To be able to overcome this hurdle, we must be ready to revisit existing ideas; be willing to rise above all kinds of biases and prejudices and become receptive to truth that may come from anywhere.

Religion has been missing one very fundamental quality; the sense of humour; It`s unfortunate, because it has made religion sick.
A sense of humor is an essential part of the wholeness of man. It keeps him healthy, young and fresh. And for centuries the sad people have dominated religion. They have expelled laughter- from churches, mosques and from temples. The day laughter enters back into the holy places they will be really holy, because they will be whole.
Laughter is the only quality that distinguishes man from other animals. Only man can see the ridiculous, the absurd. Only he has the capacity and the consciousness to be aware of the cosmic joke; it is not a serious affair. [will continue in next].

Awareness is one of the greatest gifts that existence has given to human beings.
All spiritual masters tell their students, “Become aware, increase your awareness,”
and they suggest various methods to do so. Animals too have awareness, but that
is more instinct driven. They are aware of hunger or thirst, or of danger and death,
but purely by instinct. Animal awareness is mostly about the present, although some
awareness does come to them from past conditioning too.

in India, only one-third population lives in towns and cities. In Bihar in 2001 it was only 10%.
India`s towns and cities desperately need fixing. Half of Mumbai lives in slumps, which is a
natural disgrace. At the same time, we may have to think of building completely new cities
and destroying older ones. That is a scary thought, but a time may come when it is better
to destroy than to rehabilitate. Human habitation is not permanent, and India has several
examples of urban settlements that were abandoned. We need to look long and hard at the
future of urban policy and contemplate the best and the worst.

Sub: Think India.
India thrives on contradictions like no place else; any visitor, tourist, or business representative can expect the unexpected. Relying on a trusted Indian friend to act as buffer and to protect one from culture shock is helpful in this sometimes highly confusing country. At your hotel, they may not serve beef because of the reverence Hindus hold for the cow. Yet you may hear the conversation of Hindu man from Kerala seated at a nearby table telling his wife on a cell phone that he will return home tomorrow and would prefer a beefsteak for dinner.
In a temple, where you might expect more familiar rules and behavior, you could be truly shocked to witness a sadhu (a holy man who customarily wears orange) amble in nonchalantly completely nude.

There are two angles – good and bad- in the course of everyone`s life. The good angles encourages us to hear the inner voice of consciousness and he bad angles discourages s from listening to it, and influence us to focus instead only on materialistic ambitions for  power and wealth. Light and sight fall in the category of good angles and are supplementary to each other. Sight has no benefit in the absence of light, and similarity, the presence of light makes no difference to the sightless.

One has to learn the art of commitment and not complain.
[1] Marriage works when there is commitment but most marriages which fail, do so as they get blown

[2] Secondly everyone has comfort and discomfort zones. Learn initially to avoid the discomfort zone

[3] Thirdly don`t let expectations control your lives but learn to give in a relationship more than you

How to adjust wisely, one has to learn. Don`t treat anything as a problem but an issue to handle. Learn to accept things and improve on things. Learn the art of empowering and beautifying the set-up.  Treat it as fun and not as a social obligation but a social challenge. Don’t look only at equal rights but also at duties to be fulfilled.

If you think you will be happy when some of these dreams come true, you are chasing a mirage. Be happy as you now are and enjoy peace.

Medication is the journey from movement to stillness, from sound to silence.
The need is present in you to meditate because it is our natural tendency to
look for undiminished joy and love that does not distort or turn negative.
Medication is food for the soul. When you are hungry, spontaneously you eat something. If you are thirsty, you drink water. Similarly, the soul yearns for
meditation and this tendency is in everyone.

Work on Bringing Balance to your life.
Work-life balance is one the most misunderstood concept in our pressure-laden times. Balance means finding that optimum point where the person working in a perfect condition, in perfect harmony with his environment. Balance does not mean giving equal priority to everything.
Often, people working wrongly believe that a work-life balance means dividing their time equally between work and family. Its fallacy is evident in the dissatisfaction people feel despite efforts at that `misunderstood` balance.
The answer to work-life balance is not in balancing one`s work with one`s family, for that simply means more work; it means balancing one`s work with one`s life. Your life includes you, your health, spiritual evolution, mental vigor, attitude and tenacity social presence, friends AND your family.
This sudden expansion in your life can be a shock and lead you to spin on all these factors. Let me tell you a secret; you don`t have to work at the balance, the balance work at you.
You will be amazed that we all have an inherent mechanism that warns us when our life is going off balance.
Make no comprises on your health or your body will make you a slave.

India`s soil, climate and vegetation have played their part in molding Indian.  As there is a lot of nonsense talked on this subject, let me linger over it a little.
Every country affects its dwellers in a particular way. A psychologist has observed that a monkey sent to Germany for scientific observation begin to brood and behave like a Teuton, while the same monkey dispatched to the United States reacts like a restless American, always on the go.
Whatever comes and lives in India, undergoes a subtle change of psyche. Is value altering. The boundaries of good and evil, so clear before, now begin to melt a move. He floats in a void.

Destroy those envying roots and enjoy lasting peace. Just be aware when the feeling of
jealousy arises, and you will be surprise, it simply disappears. Jealousy cannot be overcome
either by escaping from it or hating the object of jealousy.
Understand the way out of jealousy is not be surprising it or denying its existence.
Expressing and encouraging it is also not the way because then you are not ready
to face he jealousy with awareness. Just watch how jealousy arise in you,
how it develops into hatred for the object of jealousy, how it creates restlessness
and frustration inside you and make you lose all of your peace and calm.
Do not condemn the object of jealousy. The object has not generated the
emotions from outside. The jealousy is happening inside you. The fire of jealousy
can just consume you completely if you don’t control it with the fire extinguisher of
you awareness. Once you witness your jealousy with awareness, you will realize
that it does not have a basis for existence at all.  When this happens, jealously
will drop automatically. You won`t have to drop it.

Let us not run away with the impression that our Indian Sumerian is a pure Sumerian. Only the dominant layer in him is that; his other layers are in constant conflict with the Sumerian.
Fantastic, it will be said. Not quite. Take for example, His fundamental reaction to life and thought –patterns was Western, particularly British, yet he was no more than an Englishman than I am the Khan of Tartary.  He was a complex personality, and affords the best example of my contention. Nehru could identify himself closely with almost every type of Indian: he felt with the Naga: with the Brahmin like a Brahmin: with the Muslim like a Muslim: with the untouchable like an untouchable; yet at heart he was none of these. What he was, I am sure, he himself did not know. He had deep urges and large dreams –that`s all. Here was our typically complex and contradictory Indian.
There is no doubt that our various racial strains have made us what we are at present-a people with no distinctive soul, but with only a many-colored psyche. But to say this is not to say all.

Arianism, of which we have become particularly proud since independence, is, we examine matters without priories, integumentary. The essence lies elsewhere.
The Indian spirit is basically pre_Aryan. The Dravidian element in it is predominant (as we see today,) but the total influences go further back. We have heard the phrase “Mother India”; India is much more than; she is the Granny of Nations. Her soul (there’s, I repeat, no “it” about it) is steeped in the leadings and misleading of many civilizations.
Whatever races came to India- they were attracted to her like moths to a flame- had one peculiarity: they refused to be integrated. Despite the terrific pressure of the anonymous multitudes around them, they remained undigested chunks.
Hence the Indian paradox: one Indian reacts like  Scythian, another like a Sumerian, a third like a Greek, a fourth like an Arab, and so the complicated tale continues.

TOI editor has well said about BJP that “it has diluted its anti-corruption stance by admitting tainted leaders. Realizing the pitfalls some among the BJP`s central leadership including Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jailtley, have tried to distance themselves from the UP state leadership. But passing the buck is pointless. Only practicing for itself what it preaches to others can help. It`s a young, 21st century electorate out there-intelligent enough to see through cynical manipulations by the political class. It won`t help at all to be seen as a chip off the old block”.

One of the favorite sports of India`s middle classes is bureaucracy bashing. It is an easy game to play and can be quite a lot of fun. Everyone has their favorite, outrageous story about an encounter with the bureaucracy. The inefficiency, corruption, insensitivity, stupidity and Kafkaesque circularity of bureaucratic procedures and rules are legendary. That India`s bureaucracy is one the most stifling and difficult to deal with has now been revealed in a survey. Over a thousand expatriate business executive rated India`s bureaucracy the most annoying in Asia.
The problem with India is no, as we in the middle class imagine, that we have too many idle and corrupt bureaucrats.  The problem is that we have too many rules and regulations and too few officials to implement and monitor the regimes, and bring to book those who flout the rules and regulations. As India`s population grows, the disequilibrium is only going to grow: more rules and regulations to be applied to more and more people by a bureaucracy that is not high enough.
A conclusion: either we expand the bureaucracy or else the government will gradually wither away to the point that India will join the ranks of failed states. That would be a calamity for the Indian people.

As human beings, according to our inborn qualities, we are complete beings. But we are dependent on two external influences; nature and society. From one major point of view, we depend complete upon nature. Water, sunlight, oxygen, food, all parts of the life-support system is supplied by nature. We cannot afford to disassociate ourselves from these natural resources.
Living in a society means living with constant challenges. This perturbs people and they become individualists. But this kind of individualism is little more than escapism. Differences could be a boon, for if everyone thinks alike, no one thinks very much. So difference means diversity just like different trees enhance the beauty of a garden.
We cannot afford to live in a cocoon. For the larva living in a cocoon, it is a life before an impending transformation but for us human beings, it is no less than death. Social living means living through experiences, meeting challenges, learning lessons, teaching and learning. Society is like a living university. One who tries to go against society will commit social suicide. No one can afford to opt for either natural suicide. No one can afford to opt for either natural suicide or social suicide. Therefore, complaint is a futile exercise. Adjustment to achieve mutual benefit is the only possible formula.
