Modi in Silicon Valley in Sept.2015- Looks like PM Modi has shown remarkable salesmanship while he was in the Silicon valley of the US. His talk on India and its needs has proved very useful and he has cleared all the doubs on India`s development and its roll in global arena.He got all the encouragement from the big companies like Google(WI-Fi at 500 railway stations), Microsoft(broadband in 5 lakh villages), and Qualcomm ($150 million startup fund). PM Modi has given a slogan to the West that 21st century belogs to India, and Digital India is the vision. Very few people know that in 18th century India contibuted 22.6% of the world`s GDP.Modi`s 3D has not only Demographic dividend, democracy and demand and also a forth one ie. deregulation. Modi`s plan D1 is of quality of education, which need radical overhaul. This also includes urgernt deregulation and allowing the best education providers and universities of the world to come in. India4u: Solar power 100,000MW The target for solar electric capacity from 20,000MW to 100,000MW by 2022 at a cost of about US$ 100 billion need a through check up and thinking for the new government who has just finished 365 days of rule. Solar electricity is most promising. But it is also hugely subsidiezed today. Stripped of subsidies, solar pwer currently cost 14 cents/unit (abt. Rs.9.5/unit). India should opt for solar energy when it is cheaper and it is estblished as competitive and even then onlh to the extent it does not disturb the grid. India will offer online visa facilities for 45 countries including the US, Australia, Germany, Israel, Japan, UAE, Palestine, Jordan, Thailand, Singapore and Russia.
this is the first time that electronic visas will be implemented in the country.
Countries that already have visa on arrival and will be able to apply under the electronic travel authorization (ETA) scheme including finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, and South Korea. Kuldip Nayar told Jinnah that his moth-eaten Pakistan will not last more than 25 years,” reminisced Mountbatten, the last British Governor-General in India, on 1 October 1971 when Kuldip Nayer met  him at his sprawling mansion, Broadlands, near London.
It was nine weeks before East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, cut itself asunder from West Pakistan; the two wings had hung like lobes on either ear of India since the partition of the subcontinent in the middle of August 1947.
Seventy-four years old and still with a phenomenal memory, Mountbatten was recapitulating a conversation he had with Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Pakistan`s founder, at Viceroy`s House in New Delhi on 9 April 1947 as if it had happened only the day before.
“You know, C. Rajagopalachari, the last Indian Governor-General wrote to Kuldip Nayer to other day to say that your (Kuldip`s)  prophecy had come true, and Kuldip replied that he remembered that distinctly,” said Mountbatten to emphasize that he should not be accused of hindsight.

Digital India promises to transform India into a connected knowledge economy offering world-class services at the click of a mouse. The project that aims to offer one-stop shop for government services would use the mobile phones as the backbone of its delivery mechanism. The project also seeks to give every household in rural India access to bank account, along with a RuPay debit card and insurance cover of Re.1 lakh. Today India imports electronic goods worth Rs. 100 billion and by 2020, this import is going to be about Rs. 400 billion, outgrowing even the oil imports. On E-governance, Facebook has also expressed interest in partnering with the Indian government in delivering governance programmes. Each of the 700 million cell phones in the country besides millions of PCs and laptops are now like an ATM.
If an experiment of cash delivery through a phone-kiosk interface works within Reserve Bank parameters, the e-wallet could remove the use of cash and plastic in the coming years.
The volume of money transfer in India is about $30 billion annually, excluding other electronic payments such as credit cards and bank transfers.
RBI has authorized to the IMT (Instant Money Transfer) Payment System, under the Payments and Settlements Act. The transaction limit is Rs. 10,000 and it enables any partner bank account holder to send money (up to rs. 25,000 per month) even to  a person on his/her mobile phone, even if the recipient does have a bank account. IMT works on a simple 2FA (a software loop between the mobile number and the bank, which no one can penetrate) process, using a combination of a secret password and a PIN.
Where opening of a bank account poses problems due to KYC or other limitation, a mobile wallet would be a boon. Not surprisingly, India`s digital payment industry, is expected to touch Rs. 1.2 lakh crores by December 2014.

The OECD, a club of rich countries, has done well to unveil a single global standard for automatic exchange of financial account information to combat money-laundering and tax evasion. It mandates banks, brokers, and fund houses to collect information from their clients and pass it on to their respective regulators. It is a matter of time with the G20 already turning heat on Switzerland and other tax havens.
OECD`s initiative will end the practice of MNC`s shifting profits to tax havens and avoiding payment of taxes in their homelands.As information exchange becomes automatic, companies will find it harder to inflict "base erosion and profit shifting" on their host nations. Kind Regards! Sunder T
