sunderblogger.20151003 1. You need very little to be happy. Some simple plant food, modest shelter, a couple changes of clothes, a good book, a notebook, some meaningful work, and some loved ones. 2. Want little, and you are not poor. You can have a lot of money and possessions, but if you always want more, you are poorer than the guy who has little and wants nothing. 3. Focus on the present. Stop worrying about the future and holding onto the past. How much of your day is spent thinking about things other than where you are and what you're doing, physically, at this moment? How often are we living as opposed to stuck thinking about other things? Live now and you live fully. 4. Be happy with what you have and where you are. Too often we want to be somewhere else, doing something else, with other people than whomever we're with right now, getting things other than what we already have. But where we are is great! Who we're with (including just ourselves) is already perfect. What we have is enough. What we're doing already is amazing. 5. Be grateful for the small pleasures in life. Berries, a square of dark chocolate, tea - simple pleasures that are so much better than rich desserts, sugary drinks, fried foods if you learn to enjoy them fully. A good book borrowed from the library, a walk with a loved one in the park, the fine exertion of a short hard work out, the crazy things your child says, the smile of a stranger, walking barefoot on grass, a moment of quiet as the morning wakens and the world still rests. These little pleasures are living well, without needing much. 6. Be driven by joy and not fear. People are driven by the fear of missing out, or the fear of change, or the fear of losing something. These are not good reasons to do things. Instead, do things because they give you or others joy? Let your work be driven not because you need to support a lifestyle and are afraid of changing it, but by the joy of doing something creative, meaningful, valuable. 7. Practice compassion. Compassion for others creates loving, rewarding relationships. Compassion for yourself means forgiving yourself for past mistakes, treating yourself well (including eating well and exercising), loving yourself as you are. 8. Forget about productivity and numbers. They matter not at all. If you are driven to do things to reach certain numbers (goals), you have probably lost sight of what's important. If you are striving to be productive, you are filling your days with things just to be productive, which is a waste of a day. This day is a gift, and shouldn't be crammed with every possible thing - spend time enjoying it and what you're doing. Regards. Sunder T. 20151003 sunderblogger.life4living.20151003.docx __._,_.___

Realisation of Beauty: The Upanishads have said that all the things are created and sustained by an infinite joy. To realize this principle of creation we have to start with a division- the division into the beautiful and the non-beautiful. As our acquaintance ripens, the apparent discords are resolve into modulations of rhythm. At first we detach beauty from its surroundings, we hold it apart from the rest, but at the end we realize its harmony with all. Then the music of beauty has no more need of exciting us with loud noise; it renounces violence, and appeals to our hearts with the truth that it is meekness that inherits the earth- Rabindranath Tagore. And Astrology........Astrology and planetary positions give indications of the future. Yet, there is always an invisible), ie an unknown influence. It is the Grace element that can change anything, anywhere, anytime. This is the reason why spirituality is a step higher that this knowledge. Spirituality is related to the soul, while astrology is related to time. But the One beyond space and time is Lord Shiva (A Hindu God). That`s why for remedying any ill-effects of astrological movement of planets, just pray to God. Astrology is knowledge, it is necessary knowledge. However, there is something more remedial which is spiritual practice and devotion. Regards. Sunder Thadani.

This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about. (Extract from Speaking Tree for my friends online). Kind Regards. Sunder T in Mumbai, India.

E-commerce in India.2014- Indian e-commerce sites are growing rapidly because of two factors- access to unlimited capital and the ability to provide a long tail without the investment needed in inventory. American and European`s bulging pension funds are looking for a better returns on their capital and for them Indian market in e-commerce is the best target. Amazon is investing about US 150 billion which is 8% of India`s GDP of US 1.8 trillion. Today has three tigers who have entered in huge and unlimited e-commerce market, they are Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. Let us who wins in the end. With new government in power, this is an appropriate moment for these companies to establish themselves. "What you will see in the next five years is the most efficient transfer of wealth from rich investors to the lower middle class of India" Best Wishes for all. Sunder T

This wonderful tool of mind is trained to inwards under the guidance of a master through dedicated practice of yoga asanas, pranayama and mantra chanting,. It becomes our best friend, our staunchest ally. Then the blessings of a loving, forgiving disposition, tolerance and reverence for all creation, a meditative mindset and gratitude for life`s abundance adorn our life. In this way, connecting to the godliness in us heals, nurtures and transforms us. And our own mind, radiating peace and joy, itself becomes a heaven, a paradise regained. this is what said Annandmurti Gurumaa in today's toi page 20. Kind Regards. Sunder T.

"For every hour you remain angry you give up 60 minutes of joy. Ask yourself: Why do we lose our joy for petty things? Unimportant things have become more important. Joy is the most important energy but we lose it for a viewpoint that seems more imprtant than joy. Has something gone wrong inn the way we look at life? We give up our life for winning our point of view, or getting a status in life or money or position. One has to learn to drop this foolishness. Anger is an expression of foolishness" - Discourse:Swami Sukhabodhananda.

Mumbai4u: A new report by the UN, launched on Friday 11, 2014 projected that an additional
2.5 billion people would live in cities by 2050. At 21 million, Mumbai is already the world`s 4th
largest city after Tokyo (38m), Shanghai (23m) and Sao Paulo and Mexico (21 each).
The UN expects 37% of urban population growth to come from three countries- by 2050,
India is projected to add 404 million urban dwellers, China 292 million and Nigeria 212 million.
A McKinsey study projects, that, by 2030, Indian cities will generate around 70% of its GDP.

Mumbai4u: Subject: Local train fare vs Tokyo, New York, and London
The commute by a suburban train seems to be cheaper than other modes of transport in Mumbai, and is also cheaper compared to train tickets in cities across the world.
WR general manager Hemant Kumar said, "Travelling by a local train could be as cheap as 11 paise per km and for the first class travel, 37 paise. For BEST buses, it comes to 82 paise per km and for AC BEST buses it comes to Rs.2.65 per km. Globally too, fares are higher in New York, train travel cost Rs. 11.80  per km, while it is Rs.18.90 in Tokyo and Rs.29.20 in London." TNN
For your information, Mumbai is going to be the 4th largest city in the world by 2030, next to only Tokyo, New York, and London. Today Mumbai is putting 40% of India`s taxes amount in the kitty. Kindly correct me and oblige. Thanks.
Kind Regards!

India as a nation is 67 years old, having gained independence from colonial rule, but in some ways we still behave like spoilt children who have yet to learn to accept the self-responsibility which is an essential qualification for being a full-fledged adult. If anyone dares to point out the errors in any of our ways, we bristle with defensive indignation, protective of our persistent immaturity, or refusal to grow up and accept ourselves for what we are, haloes, warts and all, the good and the admirable- and there are many admirable things about us, about what India has made  of itself- as well as the bad and the deplorable. Jag Suraiya says in his editorial column on July 16, 2014, in TOI -page16, col. 1&2, that the response  to his column could provide a gauge for our (India) maturity meter. Are we (Indians) finally growing up or we still growing down? The choice is ours. Kind Regards. Sunder T

ref:150714: Move up in life: ET ascent.
1.The Indian youth today is more confident lt. It is fearless enough to choose the entrepreneurial route than      only chasing jobs.
2.The environment today is conducive to entrepreneurs as many incubators exist. Several institutes have created incubation cell too:
3.Funding is available from a variety of resources, especially angel investors and angel groups like IAN (Indian Angel Network):
4.The acceptance, as opposed to the past, of Indians as resourceful and innovative entrepreneurs has increased multiform, due to which globally, Indians are making a mark;
5.Social media is a great tool for entrepreneurs today. They help in generating instant feedback from customers and social media can be used execute additional marketing strategies;
6.The role of mentoring has not changed. Never underestimate the value that mentors bring-they help back then and they continue to do so.
Ajai Chowdhry, Padma Bhushan Awardee (2011) chairman of IIT-Patna and founder HCL discusses why the entrepreneurial landscape today is more conducive than what it used to be, way back in 1976. Fatwas issued by sharia courts or muftis had no legal base and hence could not enforced has created news in India. It came after a public litigation came up for questioning the jurisdiction of sharia courts, Supreme Court of India has clarified this and asserted that fatwas had no place in the country`s constitutions. One example on the subject is banning an all-girl Kashmiri rock bank, purportedly on religious grounds. Girls were compelled to disband their group due to community  pressure. On the face of it fatwas were harsh on women. Another example is from Muzaffarnagar, where a woman was raped by her father in law, and she was asked to treat her husband as her son. In modern Indian democracy, these things are taken as a serious issues as women has an equal status as per the constitution of India. Any such fatwas and other extrajudicial community announcements or rulings reinforce patriarchal biases and militate against reason and justice. Besides the danger is that these things can be easily manipulated to suit some people. Kind Regards.

Change Attitude, Not Lifestyle
In life, everyone is denied a few things. But all of us have been blessed with millions of gifts. If you focus on what you do not have, you will be unhappy, if you choose to focus on the things you have, you are grateful and you develop an irresistible share, contribute, and give. This makes you happy. The most precious things come for free, which you do not even consider! Hence, you live life feeling deprived and deficient when, in fact, you could be totally fulfilled and abundant.
Do you have conflict with the people you love most? Do you blame the 1other person for it? May be it has to do with your attitude. Do you have expectations of you family members? Do you make demands on your spouse and children? This is not love.  It is attachment. Love tainted with selfishness is attachment. You only love yourself. You claim to love because they happen to cater to you in some way. This causes conflict and untold suffering. In the end you support  them. Attachment is the single most important cause for breakdown in relationships.
So change you attitude, not lifestyle. Your life will change from drudgery to revelry. From mediocrity to Excellence.
Best Wishes!

Indians, by and large, have an aversion to anything dark. Whether it`s sugar, flour or skin complexion, dark is out and white is in, the whiter the better. The exception to this color is coded scheme of things is money.  Indians or, at least some Indians have a distinct preference for so-called “black” money over” white” money.

it is well said, “Politics is to be left only to politicians”.
India has been like a house owned by a householder who leaves the day-to-day running of the house –keeping the place clean, buy provisions for the kitchen, maintaining a daily account – to the servants. Left unregulated-except for a check on their activities every five years-the servants inevitably come to feel that the house belongs to them and not to the householder. As times goes by they become increasingly lazy and corrupt with no money to pay for the upkeep.
The householder blames the servants for having cheated and defrauded her. She concludes that all servants are cheats who are not to be trusted. But the householder forgets that it was only because she abdicated her own responsibility for adequately supervising the servants that they could behave the way they did, bringing the house to the sorry state it is in.
The Indian public is like that over-trustful householder who has let her house be run, with virtually no monitoring, by politicians who, feeling that there is no one to hold them to account for their actions, have done exactly as they pleased, holding to ransom the house that call India.
Best Wishes!

A major culprit for crime and corruption is addiction to drugs and alcohol. Addiction starts with the repeated experience of the same sense object and this creates a sense of craving for it. Leaving the habit becomes painful, but having it does not give you any bliss, or ecstasy. Nobody is born with a craving, but you have started a habit within you that has created the craving. An intelligent person spends his time in knowledge, music, literature, science and in bringing people together. But the foolish always enjoy spending their time indulging in addictions, altercations and fights. All these recreational drugs just destroy your body. It will temporarily give you a high that takes you off from the mundane to a seemingly subtle feeling. To overcome addiction you have choice of Love, fear, and greed. Subject: living alone and helping oneself:
I am staying alone without any servant/help for the last 14 years. I find life is very challenging and exciting (especially after expiry of wife in the year 2000 and having no children). In India, being a middle class person and having no servant is not acceptable within the society. But those who have lived abroad (me, staying in London for two years) acquired a different mindset on these matters. I like the way British people live their life. Labour is dignified (even cleaning one`s own toilet or washing one`s own car) or keeping away from other people private life (minding one`s own business). After I learned these two things, my attitude towards life had changed a lot. I wish every person can live like this (without being dependent on anybody, for even cooking his own meals, which is looked down upon when a man is cooking his own meal). I shall obliged if anyone can contribute his views, suggestion or comment on this important matter "Living Alone" and send it across to this blog. Your attention and time will be highly appreciated and acknowledged. Kind Regards! Sunder T from Mumbai, India.

Of Passion and Compassion:
We know what passion is hence it is not very difficult to understand what passion may be. Passion means a state of biological fever-it is hot. You are almost possessed by biological unconscious energies. You are no longer your own master, you are just a slave.
Passion is lust, compassion is love. Passion is desire, compassion is desirelessness. Passion wants to use the other as a means; compassion respects the other as an end unto himself or herself. Passion keeps you tethered to earth, to mud and you never become a lotus. You start rising above the muddy world of desires, greed and anger. Compassion is a transformation of your energies.

Sunderblogger.008 In the next half century, with the world facing challenges and discontinuities we will more than ever, need entrepreneurs in all domains. Only entrepreneurs can turn these challenges into opportunities and bring about change that will take us into more sustainable and equitable era by 2050. Times may be changing, but opportunities are ample. While a new breed of young entrepreneurs is ready to take on the world, there will be lot of ups and downs. While the highs are the best highs one can have the lows are the worst lows that one can be victims of. Overcome those lows, because there were no lows there would be no highs. So don`t give us. If your first idea doesn’t work, try another. Seek the advice of your contemporaries, people who are a bit ahead of you as well as people who are bit behind you. Learn from each other and support each other. Kind Regards Sunder Thadani

sunderblogger.sunderblog.life4living.007

Sunderblogger.007 It's often difficult to say no because of the desire to be loved: we want to be helpful, we want to show we care, but we may have little to give, are tired, overworked, or need alone time. Do you feel that if you aren't there for someone, they may reject you? Or that you're somehow obliged to help as it makes you a good' person, parent or friend? Do you ever feel validated by being needed? It's easy to believe that any time you take to relax or meditate is time that could be used elsewhere. But taking time out doesn't mean it is selfish or even wasted time. Think about what happens when your day is spent constantly caring for others. Do you get resentful, irritated, or even angry? Do you find stress building up? Does the quality of care that you offer become affected by that inner tension? Or are you so used to being this way that it seems impossible to imagine being any other way? You may even think you're not the relaxing type, or that if you do relax you won't be able to cope with all the things you have to do. However, by taking time for yourself, by lowering your blood pressure and releasing stress, you are immediately creating a more harmonious environment that can only benefit all those around you. When you take time out to be quiet it means you don't get so angry, resentful, or frustrated; instead, you connect with who you really are. Then what you share with others is coming from that peaceful space. When you are energized and feeling good you will be able to do far more than if you are dragging yourself through your day with little energy or in a bad mood. So, rather than being selfish, such activity is actually the least selfish thing you could do! This is when saying no to others means you are affirming yourself. The power of saying no is that you are empowered! Best Wishes Sunder Thadani
