Woman empower for equality: Woman around the world are fighting for the right to live their lives on their own terms, without a constantly nagging patriarchal society pulling them down at every step they take. There is no dearth of pictures of these marches on social media. But what grabs one`s attention is the fact that, even in the year 2017, the idea of a "woman`s march", of women coming out of onto streets as an empowered, consolidated group is an unusual one. Because the "street", the "outside" is the man`s domain. So when a woman gets out on the street, she is committing a transgression, she is a deviation from the norm. There are multiple layers and nuances where women's rights are concerned and thus we see multiple shades of feminism. We com across terms like womanism because the formerly used terminology proves to be inadequate and needs to evolve. with the ever increasing complexities of the issue and the rise of misogynistic leaders, one needs to be sensitive to the issue. Only when the nuances of the problem are understood can it be tackled adequately. We need not have umbrella terms, or blanket policies but a comprehensive understanding of situations. Only when the intricacies are looked into can the issue be resolved. This is reproduced for the information of the public and create awareness among the members of sunderfriends. Regards. Subject: Aadhaar number to replace PIN, password very soon India4u: Very soon, The Aadhaar number is all set to become an alternative for all online and card transactions which require password and PIN as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is developing a mobile app that can be used by shopkeepers, merchants or individuals for receiving payments. This move is part of the drive, anchored by Niti Aayog, to make India a cashless economy after the government scrapped high-value currency notes on November 08, 2016. The working of the system is simple. Online transaction can be executed between two people having bank accounts linked with Aadhaar by just feeding the 12 digit unique identification number in the mobile set equipped with the Aadhaar-enabled app which will be used for authenticating biometrics-fingerprints or eyes of person making payment. Aadhaar-enabled transactions are car-less and PIN-less. So folks wait and watch India as cashless society. Sunder Thadani. 20161202.

Subject: Digital Dabbawalas (Mumbai`s lunch tiffin carriers). It is more than a decade since the world realised that Mumbai`s lunch-dabba system is an act of urban genius. Now the dabbawalas are also offering click-based services at your doorsteps. This is the most indigenous food delivery system in the world. The Forbes magazine gave the lunchbox delivery men a Six Sigma performance rating or a 99.999999 percent of precision, which means they make one error in 16 million deliveries! Since last 125 years, there has not been a single instance of a lunchbox that has been delivered to its destination. Around 5,000 dabbawalas travel over 60 to 70 kms daily to delivery over 2,00,000 lunchboxes across Mumbai. Sunder Thadani. 20161129.

India is gradually switching to digital modes of financial transactions. It is now reaching the grassroots. You can call it New-Age Solutions. After demonetisation of currency notes of Rs. 1000, and Rs. 500, people are switching over to digital methods, and the transactions are reaching grassroots. Soon India will become cashless society as per P.M. Modi`s dream. India welcomes digital economy and cashless transactions! India has entered into a new zone where more and more people are considering the benefits of mobile apps and tablets; creating paperless banks; adopting digitalisation of processes and products. The technology is increasingly penetrating the bottom of the demographic pyramid and that promises a cashless future. There are may advantages of the change from cash to digital transaction. 1. It can help banks to improve their services and product offerings. 2. Provide 24/7 bank services and availability through mobile, PC, or kiosk branch. 3. Smart banking applications allows all transactions to be completed from the device of one's choice, from beginning to end. The fact that more and more Indians are today relying on artificial intelligence of digital banking and moving to cashless transactions. The message is reaching to the bottom of the demographic pyramid. Sunder Thadani. 20161129.

DigiEdu, a unit of Sunder Foundation for Fee Free Online Digital Education for all, Anytime, Anywhere. Mobilise Mobile Money Infrastructure Recent Currency ban by India for rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes -November 08, 2016. Get volunteers to educate rural Indians: Rural India is particularly hard hit by the scarcity of currency notes induced by the government`s demonetisation scheme. Most people transact almost exclusively in cash, bank branches are few and far between and newly minted notes ven their way to rural branches very slowly. People struggle to make payments, except when some unethical entrepreneurs offer to accept old notes at a discount of anything up to 30%. It is high time government to devise means to put to use the mobile payment infrastructure that the banking system has built up around the electronic backbone provided by the National Payment Corporation of India. Even without smartphones, people can send the money in their bank accounts,if they sign up for mobile banking, to other people with bank accounts, using a communication protocol called Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, which enables a t wo-say connection between the consumer`s phone and the telecom service provider's computers. About 50 banks are on this platform. The remitter must acquire a seven-digit Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) and a mobile Personal Identification Number. Some details on the payee are also needed, naturally: his phone number and MMID, his account and IFSC Code or just his Aadhaar number; Mobile wallets operated by telecom service providers, such as Airtel Money, can simplify matters further. And things will get even simpler when telcos that have obtained payment bank licences launch their operations. all hurdles in their path must be cleared. To get rural folk to use mobile banking will call for some extensive education. Necessity is a great teacher. That said, it would be useful if political parties and their associated youth and other organisations act as volunteers who guide people on the use of mobile banking. This will not remove all the strain arising from the disappearing of cash. But it would ease the pain for many. This issued for the public information for the members of sundercircle. Managing Trustee: Sunder Thadani, Sunder Foundation Mailto: sunderkt@gmail.com – https://sunderkt.wordpress.com Mobile: 079779 88099 Subject: Indian going cashless. Digital transaction via e-wallet on a PC or a smartphone promises quite a few benefits. You can pay your utilities and mobile phone bills, insurance premiums, book bus, movie and flight tickets, taxi rides and more without stopping out of your home or standing in a queue. In case you are short of funds, you can send an in-app request to friends and family. On the other hand, you can send money instantly to folk who are using the services. E-wallets work like prepaid cards, so you can use them for transactions without sharing your bank details every time. They are secure, easy to operate, and are widely accepted by most service providers and e-commerce websites. Offline merchants who support e-wallets also let you pay your bill by scanning a unique QR code with the phone`s camera. The app detects the recipient`s details and all you have to do is enter the amount to be paid. No exchange of plastic cards, or hard cash. You also get discounts and cash backs in return for usage of e-wallets. (These vary with service providers and may include caveats. For instant, a cash back offer may only be for the first time you pay a utility bill or a restaurant discount that is valid at certain outlets.) You can use e-wallets from multiple e-payment services; you do not have to maintain a maintenance fees (You may need to utilize more than one e-wallet to pay all your bills, depending on the tie-ups they have with different service providers. Finally, transactions are less cumbersome, your dependence on paper money is reduced, and you can monitor your spending. Kind Regards. This info. Is for the members of sundercircle.

Neutral Wi-fi Infra to bridge Digital Divide: India at present has only 35,000 Wi-fi hotspot while in US, UK and France has million of them. The Wi-Fi provide cheaper alternative to installing fibre for connectivity. Neutral Wi-Fi architecture is required so that anyone, irrespective of internet service provider, will be able to latch onto any hotspot, and use the network and pay accordingly. This neutral Wi-Fi Network would avoid duplication of infrastructure. Government has suggested that BOOT model be adopted for its BharathNet strategy with active participation from entrepreneurs to operate, use and market the network, besides utilising cable TV infrastructure for speedier broadband penetration. If 100 million cable TV homes carry 10 Mbps or more bandwidth, then we can have a reliable broadband infrastructure. Satellite-base communication would facilitate digital connectivity in remote areas but policy implements were holding this back.Regards. Sunder Thadani. 20161031

Indian Mindset

Indian Mindset: 20160726
Is there such a creature as an Indian? There may be, but you will never found it. An Indian pure and simple is rare as griffin or an Assyrian bull
How should it be otherwise? The Indian is not a person, but a patchwork. Indeed, he reminds you of Ibsen's famous onion-one layer, then another, then another, and finally, nothing.
It is the peeling of the various layers that causes much trouble. Each layer tells its own tale and, what is unbelievable, is not part of an organic whole. The result is that the so-called Indian is the most contradictory of persons. He is perpetually at war with himself.
Not knowing himself, he is ubable to understand others. Our metaphysics, wonderful as they are, have tried to solve this confusion, but in vain. Our multilayered soul remains hidden and unfathomable.
But why are Indians what they are?
[will continue ......]
