Tiny Device Allows You To Track Your Car Using Your Smartphone Have you ever lost your car on a parking lot? It happens. You park and go shopping. When you get back, you don't have a clue where your car is. Then you start roaming around clicking on the panic button on your car keys so the alarm goes off. It can be frustrating, especially on a hot, sunny day. No, you don't need to install an expensive GPS system to keep track of your car. That's way too expensive. You would need to pay a monthly subscription fee just to use it. Don't we have enough bills to pay already? Sunder Thadani. 20170615.

Today Second Life (SL) is comparable to modern society with relationships, thriving businesses, education, music, games, sex, and the fine arts. The question however on everyone`s mind is how do you create a sense of trust in a place where you cannot actually see each other. The co concept of Identity Verification (IDV) is the answer. Residents will provide a few simple details about their identity -usually, name, date of birth, and address. Additionally, they will be asked to provide specific identifying information, such as driving license number, passport or national ID number. There are two clear benefits. First, residents have the option of verifying aspects of their identity such as age, sex, and location. This will help residents do business with each other. Secondly, land owners and content publishers will be sure that minors do not get access to content of sexual or violent nature to those they are sure are over 18. They will do this by flagging the content as `restricted`. Sunder Thadani. 20170614.

Subject: E-waste mining is a process where valuable materials such as gold, copper, iron and plastic are extracted from the circuitry of computers and cell phones, by using the same techniques that miners use to process metal ores. One tone of scraps from discarded computers contains more gold than can be produced from 17 tons of gold ore. Mumbai, alone throws away 19,000 tons of electronic waste a year, excluding the large e-waste imports from developed nations through its port. E-waste is often richer in rare metals than their ores, containing 10-50 times higher copper content than copper ore. A cell phone contains five to 10 times’ higher gold content than gold ore. DigiEdu4all: Back Up Apps. – Downloading and reinstalling the apps you had on your old phone may dent your mobile data plan. App Backup & Restore will detect the software installed on your phone and let you save the ones you want to install on your new handset. It will also scan the phone for APK (installer) files you may have download from outside of the Play Store. The utility can save the APK file to the phone`s internal storage, a memory card or to a USB OTG drive. Note that this utility can only take a backup of the app installer and not the settings so you will have to update that manually. It will also not backup additional downloadable content, after initial installation., for certain games. This will have to be downloaded again. Android`s security system will prevent you from installing apps from outside the Play Store. You can temporarily allow the system to install the app by opening the Settings app and tapping. Security: Enable the Unknown sources option to allow installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store. Disable this feature once all installations are complete. Sunder Thadani. 20170515.

INDIA In recent years, the Indian government has focused on making schools more accessible so that more Indian children can participate in India’s extraordinary economic growth. Enrollment in India’s public and private schools has increased, yet the country still struggles with improving the low quality of education. It’s estimated that 53 percent of fifth graders can’t read at a second-grade level. Meanwhile, 46 percent can’t solve a two-digit subtraction problem. Unfortunately, the quality education challenge in India extends beyond primary and secondary schooling. Those that do get through school struggle with highly competitive college entrance examinations to top tier colleges and others fail to complete college, even at less reputable institutions, creating an imminent shortage of skilled employees. In a workforce of more than 495 million, less than 10 percent possess employable skills despite informal and formal vocational training programs. Over the next ten years, 500 million youth will need to be skilled to support market demands. Further to the education challenge is the lack of access to financial products and services for an estimated 280 million people. Far too many of India’s low-income families are still unbanked which limits the necessary incentives for entrepreneurship and engagement in the economy. We are encouraged by the new and unprecedented focus placed by the Indian government on improving education quality, job-oriented skill development and catalyzing an environment for entrepreneurial growth. We know that giving people living in urban poverty a quality education, the right financial tools, skills development and employment opportunities can lead to better outcomes. We have learned that urban youth from low-income families are ambitious, and they seek a path to the middle class and not just a minimum wage job. We know that all parents, no matter what their economic status, want the best education for their children. We opened our India office in 2006 so we could foster high-quality education and improve family economic stability among India’s urban poor. We want to have an immediate, measurable and positive impact on the lives of individual children, while at the same time catalyzing systemic change. We employ a range of financial tools, from traditional philanthropic grants to mission-driven impact investments – using whichever strategy that we can measurably prove will help transform the most lives. To those ends, we partner with a range of stakeholders, including governments, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, implementation experts, community organizations and other philanthropies. We play an active role in supporting key initiatives including Startup India, Skill India and Digital India to bring about sustainable and large scale change to benefit the underserved. This is issued as a public document for information.

The story of India’s internet is yet in its first chapter. Nonetheless, it has been played out in the press like a reality show with drastic changes in fortunes chronicled, breathless speculation on winners and losers, investors alternately cast as matures or morons. In our opinion, the chapter to begin ahead will witness real companies that build sustainable business models and merit making us proud as has been the case with Amazon in the US and Ali in China. The opportunity has attracted the imagination of entrepreneurs and investors both domestically and globally. The market is so important that global internet players are entering with the motto of winning it any cost. Indian players will continue to face fierce competition from global counterparts with advantage of global learnings and access to large pools of capital. To fight out the battle, Indian entrepreneurs will require access to large sources of growth capital and management talent pool capable of steering the companies to their zeniths. We at Kalaari are big believers that India shall witness the success stories of internet companies solving large problems for Indians by Indian entrepreneurs in a uniquely Indian way. Whether for entrepreneurs or investors, the opportunity will be fiercely competitive – the throne is constantly evolving! Sunder Thadani.20170514.

Researching on a topic online might not always give you the result you need; Sites are divided by keywords; some are sponsored by companies that you can not trust; and others have the information displayed in a haphazard format. Mark Moran, the founder of today's site, got tired of the same and decided to use human power to sort things out. He formed a team of editors and writers that search the Internet for various topics and bring together the best and most reliable material about any subject. The portal is very easy to browse, completely free, and should easily find a place in your list of bookmarks. It worth trying WWW.FINDINGDULCINEA.COM. Sunder Thadani. 20170508.

Email to get proper response. Sending the right cold email could land you your next client, employee, or even job. However, as you probably know from experience, trying to get in touch with someone you have never met, especially if they are quite busy; can be an exercise in futility. Thankfully, there are proven tactics that will increase your odds of getting a response. Master networker Keith Ferrazzi, author of the bestselling career guide “Never Eat Alone”, can tell you what`s consistently worked for him. Here is how he recommends getting off on the right foot. (1) Have a subject line that grabs their attention: Regardless of what you write, your email is in`t getting read if the subject line isn`t compelling. “Focus on your strongest hook, either the contract you have in common or the specific value you have to offer.” (2) Send it at the start or end of the day: If you are contracting a busy person, they will probably miss your message if you send it during their working hours. Send it first thing in the morning or as the workday ends, when they are probably checking their inboxes. (3) Think a brief message: Think about the way you process emails. If you cannot get to the point within a single screen`s worth of text, the recipient is most probably going to send it to the trash or forget it forever. (4) Give a call to action: ” Make your first request clear and easy,” Instead of writing something vague like “I`d love to get coffee sometime” or “get on the phone”, give them some time and dates that work for your, and note how long they would take. (5) Proofread your email aloud: Read through your email, loud if possible (even if it is under breath), to hear how you are coming across. The goal is to be clear and conversational. (6) Check your spelling and grammar: Incorrect spelling may create confusion. Browsers have built in spell-checks- there is no excuse for rushed by sending a message with types or bad grammar. Subject: Robots to help build homes. Robots that can lay six titles as many bricks a day as human builders are set to turn the construction industry on its head. New York-based firm Construction Robotics has developed a robot called SAM (short for Semi-automated Mason), which can lay 3,000 bricks a day. That`s significantly more than most human builders, who can lay an overage of 500 bricks a day. The devices have started replacing humans on some sites in US. While SAM has the ability to pick up bricks, apply mortar and lay them, the robot needs to be heavily supervised. Australian company Fast brick robotics has also developed a proof of concept for a commercial bricklaying machine called Hardian X. From the computer-aided design of a house structure, the Hadrian X robotic bricklayer will be able to handle the automatic loading, cutting, routing and placement of all bricks to build a complete structure. Delivery of the first commercial prototype of Hardrian X is due later this year. Sunder Thadani. 20170328.
