Mumbai, India: Government Railway Police (GRP) is introducing a new scheme for city stations to have "police mitra".

What is the scheme? It is a compiled database of food stall workers, shoeshine boys, coolies, and cabbies, present at every station, to act as "eyes and ears" of the police. The cops will train them on how to gather intelligence and spot suspicious activities as well as help the commuters trying to locate a police station. The tricky part will be to differentiate rogue cabbies from the others

Areas to be covered

.

At lease 3 to 4 mitras will be present on each of the 471 railway platform in the city. The have been armed with the GRP`s helpline Numbers

Saved by Diversity There is a couplet in Sanskrit that says, "It is because lions are lazy, snakes are scared, and intellectuals have difference of opinions, that there is happiness on the planet". Just imagine if lions were very active, they would have finished all the animals in the forest in no time. So the laziness of the lion is a boon to the forest. Similarly, serpents are so scared and because of their fear we are saved. In the same way, the differing opinions of intellectuals makes the world a better place. We would have no diversity on the planet if everyone thought the same thing.Imagine, if everyone goes to a restaurant and eats only one thing, there will be no variety in the restaurant. Diverse viewpoints make the world a better place to live in. What the world needs is celebration in diversity- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (author)- This appeared in a local paper and is now reproduced for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercircle". Sunderblogger.041 Religion seeks to give a sense of meaning and direction to human existence, providing us with understanding of whom and what we are. Accordingly, it is inextricably bound up with the different components of our human identity-as individuals, spouses, members of families, communities and nations. These are the expanding circles of our human identity, each of which has its place and value. Sociological analysis indicates that much of problems of alienation and disorientation within modern society are the result of a loss of traditional components of human identity. Best Wishes! Thank it over Everyone here is in need of genuine care, Even the strongest souls at times despair; Money and luxuries are the things that come later, A helping hand and acts of love are the things you must cater. Everyone want to talk, no one wants to listen, Everyone wants to feel secure, for others they fail to endure. Everone wants to be respected no one wants to respect, Life is very short our negative feelings we must suspect. Nothing is valued until it is lost, Because every action has its own cost, What we gave to others and did for their welfare. Before pointing our finger, let us first reflect, For with every bad deed out good ones would deflect. Let us stop judging because even we don`t want to be judged, Let us start because it is amazing to be loved. -Anam Gwallori This appeared in a local newspaper known as DNA and the content is now reproduced for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercircle". Acquiring Humility-How does one acquire humility? *Pray. When you pray genuinely and regularity, you are constantly aware of the fact that you are created by God. This will keep you humble. *Understand co-existence and unity. God created everyone equal. So the moment you consider yourself superior to someone else, there is a flaw in your thinking. We all come to Earth with different gifts for our own tests, training and mission, so there is no question of being superior.*Learn how to serve others. The ego wants to fulfil its own desires, but humility leads to the path of service. * Be open and understand someone else `s point of view. *Accept your flaws; only then can you change. * Be compassionate. Keep others` feeling in mind. Be considerate. This is said by Khorshed Bhavnagri in a local paper (and is now reproduced for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercircle" Kind Regards! Perfect Charity: Charity is of three types: Charity for the body; charity for the mind and charity for the soul. To give food, shelter, clothes and hospitalization is charity for the body. To encourage people to be good to others and to be friendly is charity for the mind. Tod give transcendental knowledge and facilities for the people to be educated in spiritual life is charity for the soul. All three must go together side by side. We should definitely help the poor by giving what they need to maintain their bodies. But we should not neglect the rich either. They are suffering too. Eighty per cent of the people in the upper-income bracket have to take sleeping pills to fall asleep. What does that mean? All strata of society- whether rich or poor - are in need of the charity of transcendental knowledge - Radhanath Swami (This appeared in a local paper and is now reproduced for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercircle". What is Love Love should be a force that helps you expand your life and bring forth your innate potential with fresh and dynamic vitality. That is the ideal but, as the saying "Love is blind" illustrates, people often lose all objectivity when they fall in love. If the relationship you`re in is causing your parents to worry, or making you neglect your studies or engage in destructive behavior; then you and the person you`re seeing are only being a negative influence on each other. Neither of you will be happy if you both just end up hurting each other- Dalsaku Ikeda (This appeared in a local paper and is now reproduce for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercircle". Mind is Key to Health The word `disease` is often associated with ailment, but rather it points to a state of dis-ease, both in body and mind. Our sages said millennia ago, that body just manifests what goes on in the mind. Therefore, a diseased body is definite indication that it is actually the mind which is not `at ease` and needs to be primarily addressed. Several diseases once thought to be merely physical dysfunction, have been found to be actually psychosomatic in origin. Ind today`s highly competitive, cut throat world, stress and tension are major killers. When mind is able to remain calm, quite and balanced in any situation, then, even if the body is unwell, it it supported to heal itself. Most interestingly, it has often been the case that terminally ill cancer patients undergo spontaneous remission once they work at cultivating a healthy stress-free mind- this is what wrote by Anandmurti Gurumaa in a local paper, and is now reproduced for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercicle. Sunderblogger.035 With consciousness we have created very beautiful concepts, and one of them is the idea of relationships. Whatever we create, whatever we discover is to make life more comfortable, beautiful, peaceful and happy. We invest our mental spiritual and psychic energies in building relationships. The first relationship has to be with you. You must have a very clear relationship with yourself, knowing why you think in particular way and so on. The first step is to be aware of your own self. Secondly, why do we want a relationship? Is it for happiness, for security? If that is so, the best source of what we call happiness and security is the Divine. What is Divinity? Divinity is present everywhere, also in those you consider close to you. And having a close relationship with your psyche can give you everything you need. Relationship sours primarily due to ego. Use your ego. But do not allow your ego to use you. It is a tool. If you know how to use it, it will build you and give you many wonderful things. If the ego is using you, you will see ego everywhere. Only ego sees ego. Ego is without substance: a lack of knowledge, a lack of light. Hate s too much love. You never hate someone you don`t know. We call it hate but hate has also substance of love there. It is too much connection. Best Wishes! Sunder.thadani 20150409

Exams Minus Stress Stress and worry from the pressure to excel in examinations can result in ill-health-even suicide. Students try to cope. But instead of just managing stress, is permanent relief possible? Yes, We can learn to lean on something wiser than ourselves. "Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don`t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God`s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he`s the one who will keep you on track. "(Bible) The all-knowing, all-loved God or divine Mind is ever-present to give us the intelligence and understanding we need. How? Through prayer that affirms God is our true Mind. "The divine is the Soul of men, and gives man dominion over all things," said Mary Baker Eddy. Turning to the divine source of wisdom and intelligence, we can find reassurance and relief from the fear and self-doubt that cause stress about exams.said by Abby Matthai in a local newspaper. Master Your Mind- Your mind will not be confined by any limits or barriers. The mind is its own space; the mind is its own power. This is certainly a good thing for the mind. But the negative aspect of this is that the mind is restless. It cannot be still; its feet are burning; it cannot stop; it will not stay in one place; it keeps on wondering! Do not attempt to fight the mind- for the mind can be a formidable enemy! Make friends with it. Say to it gently, as you would tell a stubborn child that it would be good for it to focus on the Divine Presence. Allow your mind to savors the peace that this can bring. Can you try a little exercise? Every time you become aware that the mind wonders, quietly, gently, lovingly, sweetly, bring the mind back to the Divine Presence. It is not easy! Even as you become aware that the mind is wandering, we are wondering with the mind! However, do your best to stop the wondering mind in its tracks, and bring it lovingly back to the Divine Presence? Repeat this simple exercise over a period of three to six months. You will be amazed at the change that this brings in your life! Your life will become new! Kind Regards Sunder Thadani – 20150408

Matter and Spirit: Proper adjustment between the material and the spiritual aspects of life is not secured by giving equal importance to them. It is not secured by taking something from the material and something from the spiritual and then striking a balance between the two. The spirit must and ever will have an inviolable primacy over matter.; however, the primacy is not expressed by avoiding or rejecting matter but rather by using it as an adequate vehicle for the expression of the spirit. Just as a musical instrument is valuable only if it gives expression to the song of the musician and become a hindrance if it does not yield complete subservience, matter is valuable if it gives free expression to the creative flow of life and becomes an obstacle if it interferes with it- Mehar Baba [This appeared in a local newspaper, and not it is reproduced for the benefit and information of the members of, "sundercirlce". Humility is Godliness What does it mean to be humble? All the knowledge you possess, the skills that you have and the goodness that exists within you flows through you Your mind, body and spirit are fortunate to be a channel for that flow of goodness. According to spiritual law, that flow will be drawn to humility. As channels you are servers and thus co-creators. But the moment you feel proud, you choose to operate alone and disconnect yourself from God, and you will be left with your mind and body which are extremely limited- Khorshed Bhavnagri (this article appeared in a local paper DNA, and now is reproduced for the information and benefit of the members of "sundercircle". Trappings of Power

Power can be measured. Its volume, its weight, its momentum can all be brought within the purview of mathematics. So it is the endeavour of those who hold power to be supreme, to increase in bulk. They would repeatedly multiply numbers- the number of men, the number of coins, the number of appliances. What they strive for success they sacrifice others` wealth, others` rights, others` lives; for sacrifice is the essence of the cult of Power; and the earth is running red with the blood of that sacrifice- Rabindranath Tagore. Take the Correct Path Self-realisation is the easiest thing. It is not difficult. What difficult things to do you have to do to experience what is within you? It is just that you are willing and unwilling at the same time. The struggle is yours. You have just chosen a path like this. Suppose you wanted to go to the room next door; If you knew the geography of the building, you would simply turn the right way and walk into the room. But if all you have is enthusiasm and have n o clue how to get to the room, you might go around the world and come in through the window. You can get to the room that way too. Yet, it is a foolish thing to do. And who knows what impediments may eat you up during this round-the world trip. A few centuries ago, out of many thousands of people who set off on expeditions from Europe to find India, most of them got wiped out on the oceans. Only one Vasco Da Gama made it. So if you go around the world to get to the next room, the chances of you getting there are remote - Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Kind Regards Sunder Thadani 20150331

As in life, the only certainty in stock market is the uncertainty and unpredictability. Every morning, although we have broad idea of how our day is likely to be, we cannot predict with surety about evens that might or not happen during the day. This is true of our lives too, where life flows moment to moment; we can only live in the present.
Life is enmeshed in duality, with its ups and downs, victories and losses. The same is true of stock markets, where investors move from happiness to sorrow and from ecstasy to dejection, with cyclical regularity. As in life, with stocks too, no one is a permanent winner or loser. Change is the only constant. Life is all about putting in our best efforts and then surrendering to a higher authority or power. This letting go is often required in investing too where, after having made a decision, one should not continuously be thinking about it. Having gone our job, we must let go and let existence take over, and give us whatever returns or rewards…. Learn to accept that which you cannot change. At the same time, one cannot afford to be callous or careless, as these qualities always lead to trouble.
Life moves in cycles and good times are followed by not-so-good times. On the stock market there are winners, there are losers and often roles are reversed. The qualities that make our life joyous, balanced and harmonious-awareness, presence of mind, maturity, patience, truthfulness to oneself, acceptance, and an ability to forgive and forget, resilience, and trust and faith in a higher power –are the very traits that will hold any trader in good stead, through buoyancies and crashes, and will ensure that he does not lose his peace of mind and become a victim of stress, anxiety, and depression.

the fact that society is a very densely connected network in which we are nods, and links represent our numerous social, professional, or family relationships. The most important revelation about networks- the one that is exciting scientists from all disciplines-has little to do with small worlds. Rather it is the realization that networks appearing in all different segments of nature and society are indistinguishable. We now understand that real networks are far from being a bunch of nodes randomly linked to each other. Instead, a few hubs, nodes with an exceptionally large number of connections, keep most networks together. A few individuals with an extraordinary ability make friends keep society together.

Compassion: In Buddhism, one of the cardinal principals Lord Buddha taught is ahimsa, which means non-violence, respecting the integrity of the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. of all living beings, regardless of their race, religion, sect, economic or educational background or even their species- to compassionate towards others. To give in charity to get your name exalted is good, but it doesn't touch your heart. But to give in charity because you actually feel for the suffering of someone else and out of love you really want to help that person, that is real charity.- Radhanath Swami. you are thinking negatively when you fear the future, put yourself down, criticize yourself for errors, doubt your abilities, or expect failure. Negative thinking damages confidence, harms performance and paralyses mental skills.
If you find it difficult to look at your negative thoughts objectively, imagine that you are your best friend or a respected coach or mentor.
Negative thinking has been an early warning system showing where you need to direct your attention. Thought awareness helps you to understand the negative thinking, unpleasant memories and misinterpretation of situation that may interfere with your performance and damage yourself-confidence. Rational thinking is the technique that helps you to challenge these negative thoughts and either learn from them or refute them as incorrect. Positive affirmations that you can use to counter negative thought. These affirmations neutralize negative thought and build self-confidence. It is also used to find the opportunities, almost always present to some degree in a difficult situation.

Courage: It is plain that there is no separate essence called courage, no cup or cell in the brain, no vessel in the heart containing drops or atoms that make or give this virtue; but it is the right or healthy state of every man, when he is free to do that which is constitutional to him to do. It is directness,- the instant performing of that which he ought. An to be really strong w must adhere to our own means. On organic action all strength depends. Every creature has a courage of his constitution fit for his duties; Each is strong, relying on  his own, and each is betrayed when he seeks in himself the courage of others. Captain John Brown, the hero of Kansas, said that "It is still observed the most valiant men are seen to be those who are most modest before they came to war." Practising Non-violence: Ahimsa (non-violence) does not mean merely not injuring a living being physically. You should not cause harm even by a word, a look or a gesture. Tolerance, fortitude, equanimity-these help you to practice a non-violence steadily.
Non-violence is another facet of truth. When once you are aware of the kinship of all beings, the fundamental divine unity and their oneness with God, you will not knowingly cause pain or distress to another.
we generally think that non-violence means not causing harm to any living being. Violence is not merely causing physical harm, even looking at debasing things, listening to evil or wrongful words and speaking harshly amount to voilence.
It all depends on one`s intention. Non-violence is ultimately a matter of intention and attitude, directed from the heart.
Perpetrating voilence on others is ultimately committing violence to oneself. We will definitely reap the consequences of our actions, whether in the present or future. Though the result may not be always apparent, every action evokes an inevitable reaction. Therefore, the best policy is to avoid harming others at all. As the biblical saying goes, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." So help ever, hurt never.- Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Diversity at the workplace has led to an increase in interaction between colleagues o the opposite sex- so much so, that these days, it just seem to make eminent sense to have a purely platonic girlfriend or boyfriend at the office – a “work spouse,” if you will.
Having a work spouse is more than simple jokes and fun, as they are uniquely bonded individuals who can relate and provide emotional support during stressful times. Even tough by pure definition, work-spouse relationships are platonic. It`s the latent possibility for hanky panky that makes relationship experts wary of such associations. It is too easy for any boy-girl kind of relationships to morph into a dangerous affair.

Destroy those envying roots and enjoy lasting peace. Just be aware when the feeling of
jealousy arises, and you will be surprise, it simply disappears. Jealousy cannot be overcome
either by escaping from it or hating the object of jealousy.
Understand the way out of jealousy is not be surprising it or denying its existence.
Expressing and encouraging it is also not the way because then you are not ready
to face he jealousy with awareness. Just watch how jealousy arise in you,
how it develops into hatred for the object of jealousy, how it creates restlessness
and frustration inside you and make you lose all of your peace and calm.
Do not condemn the object of jealousy. The object has not generated the
emotions from outside. The jealousy is happening inside you. The fire of jealousy
can just consume you completely if you don’t control it with the fire extinguisher of
you awareness. Once you witness your jealousy with awareness, you will realize
that it does not have a basis for existence at all.  When this happens, jealously
will drop automatically. You won`t have to drop it.

The 7 systems of balance:
The secret to a balanced life is in the balance of passion and structure.
The wonders of our age, all of the new ways to do things, all of the new ways to be in contact with others, the access to any and all sources of information, all of the new ways to travel, all these limitless opportunities make it possible for you to pursue your passion, your ideas, you interest, your love.

In pursuing our passion to be happy, we ultimately become unhappy. Why? The missing ingredient is balance. It is just how human beings are made. In order to be happy, your life must be balance. Otherwise your body and brain send you powerful signals, telling you that something is wrong. You see, your body and your brain are only trying to help you. The signals tell you that it is time to do something about the imbalance in your life or problems are sure to arise. Done in the right way, pursuing your passion can turn you on, it can lead you to new ground, and it can help you to realize your dreams.

Having Faith: The one predominant quality of faith is fearlessness. A person without faith is like a pendulum of a wall clock, vacillating between fear and sorrow, but one who has unshakable faith in God is the real hero who stands firm like a rock through all storms of life.
A real spiritual being is fearless, balanced, disciplined, calm and an organised person. (S)he can never be a troublesome and irritating personality. Moreover, (S)he cannot be an insensitive person.
Sterling faith is closely associated with selfless love.
One, who possess faith, knows that God is with me and in me. And the rays of His Grace are a means of transport. The destination of this journey is boundless joy. Anyone who follows through unceasingly on faith is bound to get the experience of joy that knows no end. -Ved Smriti Gour.

Maxim for life: Success is less about luck and more about practice
  • What you give away comes back to you in a river.
  • Money is the inevitable consequence of value delivered in other human beings.
  • To have what few have, do what few do.
  • Think for yourself.
  • Being happy makes you more productive, creative and exceptional.

In the next half century, with the world facing challenges and discontinuities we will more than ever, need entrepreneurs in all domains. Only entrepreneurs can turn these challenges into opportunities and bring about change that will take us into more sustainable and equitable era by 2050.
Times may be changing, but opportunities are ample.
While a new breed of young entrepreneurs is ready to take on the world, there will be lot of ups and downs. While the highs are the best highs one can have the lows are the worst lows that one can be victims of. Overcome those lows, because there were no lows there would be no highs. So don`t give us. If your first idea doesn’t work, try another. Seek the advice of your contemporaries, people who are a bit ahead of you as well as people who are bit behind you. Learn from each other and support each other.

Unlimited Freedom: Freedom to live as one wishes is sought in all spheres of life. This demand for freedom usually expresses itself by fastening upon some external conditions of the kin of existence people wish to lead. However, there are fes who realise that even if all the external conditions of a free life - political, economic, religious or cultural-were completely fulfilled and guaranteed, the soul of man would still remain in woeful beondage if failed to realise spiritual freedom.
Only spiritual freedom is absolute and unlimited. When it is won through persistent efforts, it is secured forever. It is only in spiritual freedom that one can have abiding happiness and unimpaired Self-Knowledge. It is only in spiritual freedom that there arises the supreme certainty of Truth- Meher Baba.
