India topped global remittances in 2014

The world Bank has said India continues to be the leading nation in remittances pulling in $70 billion from its global diaspora workforce in 2014

While China stands at $ 64 and the Philippines at $28

*$440 billion remittances to the developing world are likely to reach in 2015. *0.9% increase it over previous year. *$586 billion-global remittances including to high income countries. *$610 billion-global flows likely in 2016. *4.1% rise it would be over 2015. *$636 billion -flows expected in 2017. *$459 billion remittances to developing countries likely to reach in 2016. *$479 billion in 2017. *8%- global average cost of the transaction value for sending $200. *2% -share of remittance via mobiles. Note: US, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Russia and UAE remained top five migrant destination countries. India, China, Philippines, Mexico, and Nigeria are the top five remittance recipient countries in terms of value of remittances.
