One of the favorite sports of India`s middle classes is bureaucracy bashing. It is an easy game to play and can be quite a lot of fun. Everyone has their favorite, outrageous story about an encounter with the bureaucracy. The inefficiency, corruption, insensitivity, stupidity and Kafkaesque circularity of bureaucratic procedures and rules are legendary. That India`s bureaucracy is one the most stifling and difficult to deal with has now been revealed in a survey. Over a thousand expatriate business executive rated India`s bureaucracy the most annoying in Asia.
The problem with India is no, as we in the middle class imagine, that we have too many idle and corrupt bureaucrats.  The problem is that we have too many rules and regulations and too few officials to implement and monitor the regimes, and bring to book those who flout the rules and regulations. As India`s population grows, the disequilibrium is only going to grow: more rules and regulations to be applied to more and more people by a bureaucracy that is not high enough.
A conclusion: either we expand the bureaucracy or else the government will gradually wither away to the point that India will join the ranks of failed states. That would be a calamity for the Indian people.

Freedom from sex is not repression of sex: it the understanding of sex; by understanding, one goes beyond it. But that does not mean that you will be angry, against it and antagonistic. You will be blissful. You will bless everybody with the hope that someday, they will also go beyond it.
Sex is not a sin. Nobody is ever punished or sent to hell for sex. God has given it to you, you are born with it; you have not created it- like the atom bomb, bayonet, sword, money or politics- these are inventions of the ugly human mind. These people will go to hell, certainly. But sex is God-given gift, and it is a great seed. Once it starts sprouting and finds the right soul, it will become a big tree. Millions of flowers will come to it.

Head understands head and heart understands heart. We try to put the heart in the head and head in the heart and it doesn`t seem to work.
Your heart feels something beautiful, and you can feel it. When head says something is beautiful, we cling on to the word; it`s there in the mind, but we might not feel what we feel when the heart says the same thing. We repeat the word ‘beautiful’ in the head but it doesn’t seem or feel beautiful the way it would have if it had come from the heart.
Let us talk about love. It`s the same thing- you talk too much about love, the word love` gets stuck in the head, but somehow there no depth of feeling. That`s because it`s in the head, not in the heart. In silence, love emits, radiates. We experience ourselves in the things we love more. That is why, when we lose the things we love, we feel hurt; we fee unhappy.
We are all floating in an ocean of life; a big life. It is not just empty space all around us; it is lively big life. And in the big sea of life there, all shells are floating and each shell has got a little water in it which is not the water separate from the water in the sea.
so, we come out of our shells and experience, “I am not just in the body, but I am expanded all over; everywhere, it`s me there and it`s me here, I see myself in everybody”.

On Hollywood –MGM
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the legendary 86 year-old Hollywood studio, is filling for bankruptcy. This relates to Hollywood`s style of functioning, marred by overblown budgets, unreal plots, unsure narratives and seeking novelty mixed with realism. In contrast stands Bollywood, the Hindi film industry steadily expanding over the globe. Bollywood`s themes are constantly energized by everyday culture and mythology while increasingly including edgy, experimental stories.
Winner of 205 Oscars over the years, it is extraordinary that a studio of MGM`s stature should see such days. Despite holding 4,000 film titles including the sparkling James Bond series, the studio, bought in 2005 by a Sony-led consortium, has been plagued by debts of four billion dollars. It is anticipated that its lenders will now take over most of MGM, forcing it to re-scale operations. MGM`s crisis reflects greater troubles within Hollywood itself. In recent years, American cinema has increasingly been treated not as ‘show business` but pure business. Films have been based on market strategy, distribution networks and commercial calculations as opposed to simply being cinema that delights and thrills viewers through the forceful creativity driving it. Once, MGM made iconic films like Gone with the Wind, BenHur, The Wizard of Oz and Rocky. In recent times, despite the hype and hoopla surrounding Hollywood, it is hard to think of many movies which will live beyond their times, seeping into popular memory the world over.

 If you are just following your senses, you are indulging them.
Understand the game of the senses, and then go beyond them.
Discover that portion of life, that part of life that can give us something permanent,
the highest knowledge of life, the highest clarity in life.
What we understand by happiness lies on the surface.
When you live at a deeper level, you give importance to clarity of consciousness
which gives you information on the purpose of your existence; it gives you purpose.
Once this is clear everything come to you, including contentment and balance.

Choose Your Options with Care.
Everyday in our life, we perhaps have some kind of bad experience, big or small. One has two options: either ignore them or react. The first option is a form of forgiveness, while the other amounts to engagement and in some cases, even revenge.
Which is the better option?
Forgiveness is a better option for it is based on a proven formula: `save yourself`. Forgiveness saves you from distraction, it saves your time, and it saves you from creating more problems. Forgiveness could amount to an instant solution to the problem.
In contrast, reaction and emotional revenge means turning the bad into worse, for revenge tends to worsen the problem. If forgiveness is buying time, revenge is just wasting time without hope of any positive result.
“To error is human, but to forgive is divine” For the core, aren`t we all really divine beings?

In 2009 Indian companies have raised billions from global markets, to finance foreign takeovers, and internal
expansion. This far exceeded the inflow of foreign direct
investment [around $10 billion].
This is the real revolution of 2006, India as left
behind the stage of being seen as global suppliers of
soft ware, generic drugs and auto components. It is now
seen as a global managerial power, one that can take over
multinationals across the world and improve their
performance. So, global financiers are tripping over
one another to fund foreign acquisitions by Indian
companies.
The world now believes that Indian are excellent managers,
better than those in several American and European countries
Hundreds of Indian companies have become MNCs with growing
empires.
Day is not far, when ICIC Bank takes over Citibank, when
Infosys acquired IBM, when Reliance takes over Exxon; and
Tata Motors take over General Motors, and of course Times

According to Akamai Technologies’ latest State of the Internet report, India has currently 2.1 million unique IPs, which means the country has 0.002 IPs per capita or two unique IP addresses per 1,000 people. An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique 32-bit number, which identifies a computer in an IP network.

The State of the Internet report also reveals that the percentage of broadband connections from India with speeds above 5 Mbps (high broadband) and 2 Mbps (broadband) are 0.6 per cent and 4.6 per cent respectively. The percentage of connections with speeds less than 256 Kbps from India is 26 per cent.

Sanjay Singh, vice president, Global Services and Support, Akamai Technologies, has said, “Our global network of 36,000 servers across 70 countries enables us to offer unique insight into how the internet is being leveraged around the world. While the report notes that India has just two unique IPs per 1,000 people on average, we believe India’s internet penetration will significantly increase in the coming years, thanks in part to the economic boom and increasing IT adoption.”

Boredom is a state of mind in that state, nothing appeals to us, nothing excites us,
and ad nothing interests us. Boredom is not something that hits us from outside;
It`s nothing external. It is not like day and night or like the seasons that are inevitable.
Boredom is the mind, though it might be related to the presence or absence of people,
events or material elements that are outside the person
The most common reason for boredom is when one does not have anything worthwhile
to do. Take up a hobby, call up old friends or relatives, start writing a journal, learn
a new art like drawing, painting, or music, remember all the things you wanted to do,
but could not do due to a genuine lack of time.
Like everything, boredom too has its benefits, if you use the time effectively, and creatively.
Otherwise, you can keep complaining that you are bored, and waste the one and
only life that God has given you, in a bored, mundane fashion. Feeling bored is
also a choice- no one is stopping you from going ahead and doing all those things
that could make your life interesting or exciting, except yourself.

Prime Minister Narnendra Modi has enunciated an excellent principle by stating that life stories of living individuals should not be part of school text book. This came in response to move by Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan governments- all of them BJP ruled- to introduce a chapter on his life in their school textbooks. One of the reasons the Indian education system does not deliver the goods today is that it is overly politicized.

Destroy those envying roots and enjoy lasting peace. Just be aware when the feeling of jealousy arises, and you will be surprise, it simply disappears. Jealousy cannot be overcome either by escaping from it or hating the object of jealousy.
Understand the way out of jealousy is not be surprising it or denying its existence.
Expressing and encouraging it is also not the way because then you are not ready
to face he jealousy with awareness. Just watch how jealousy arise in you,
how it develops into hatred for the object of jealousy, how it creates restlessness
and frustration inside you and make you lose all of your peace and calm.
Do not condemn the object of jealousy. The object has not generated the
emotions from outside. The jealousy is happening inside you. The fire of jealousy
can just consume you completely if you don’t control it with the fire extinguisher of
you awareness. Once you witness your jealousy with awareness, you will realize
that it does not have a basis for existence at all. When this happens jealously
will drop automatically. You won`t have to drop it.

They live mechanically from the day they are born until the day they die. We will only be able to appreciate the beauty and magnitude of life when we realize it true purpose.
To enjoy freedom, to be more aware, we need to liberate the mind from needless thoughts. When we develop awareness, we gain the ability to accept and nourish healthy thoughts and reject bad ones.  It`s nothing external. It is not like day and night or like the seasons that are inevitable.

events or material elements that are outside the person

The most reason for boredom is when one does not have anything worthwhile
 to do. Take up a hobby, call up old friends or relatives, start writing a journal,
learn a new art like drawing, painting, or music, remember all the things you wanted
to do, but could not do due to a genuine lack of time.

Like everything, boredom too has its benefits. If you use the time effectively and creatively. Otherwise, you can keep complaining that you are bored, and waste the one and only life that God has given you, in a bored, mundane fashion. Feeling bored is also a choice- no one is stopping you from going ahead and doing
all those things that could make your life interesting or exciting, except yourself.

The first relationship has to be with you. You must have a very clear relationship with yourself, knowing why you think in particular way and so on. The first step is to be aware of your own self.

Secondly, why do we want a relationship? Is it for happiness, for security? If that is so, the best source of what we call happiness and security is the Divine. What is Divinity? Divinity is present everywhere, also in those you consider close to you. And having a close relationship with your psyche can give you everything you need.

Relationship sours primarily due to ego. Use your ego. But do not allow your ego to use you. It is a tool. If you know how to use it, it will build you and give you many wonderful things.

In India, a particular caste restrict a person to a particular type of work. He never excels in it, but becomes a hack. Pure and simple; since he performs his task mechanically, in the way laid down by the respected father, he is unable to improve its quality. No a small impediment to industrial progress, it will be admitted; yet when, in spite of him industrialization has hit our Indian, be finds himself utterly helpless because he cannot adapt his undertaking to the changing techniques and consumer tastes of his time. Newness terrifies Indian as he is rooted in a seemingly endless yesterday.

Our twenty first century Indian, habituated to compartmentalized thinking in matters spiritual and ethical, feels completely bewildered in the presence of fresh facts- even about his own race. Unexpected information upsets his balance and makes him thoroughly uncomfortable. Novelty of any kind is not to his liking; when it creeps into his life he prefers not to acknowledge it; he seeks solace in mumbling mystic formulas that had been crooned to him when he was in his cradle. Ram, Ram; hai Krishna; Hanuman- these concentrate for him as in dewdrop the wisdom of ages past of ages to come.

As in life, the only certainty in stock market is the uncertainty and unpredictability. Every morning, although we have broad idea of how our day is likely to be, we cannot predict with surety about evens that might or not happen during the day. This is true of our lives too, where life flows moment to moment; we can only live in the present.
Life is enmeshed in duality, with its ups and downs, victories and losses. The same is true of stock markets, where investors move from happiness to sorrow and from ecstasy to dejection, with cyclical regularity. As in life, with stocks too, no one is a permanent winner or loser. Change is the only constant. Life is all about putting in our best efforts and then surrendering to a higher authority or power. This letting go is often required in investing too where, after having made a decision, one should not continuously be thinking about it. Having gone our job, we must let go and let existence take over, and give us whatever returns or rewards…. Learn to accept that which you cannot change. At the same time, one cannot afford to be callous or careless, as these qualities always lead to trouble.

Life moves in cycles and good times are followed by not-so-good times. On the stock market there are winners, there are losers and often roles are reversed. The qualities that make our life joyous, balanced and harmonious-awareness, presence of mind, maturity, patience, truthfulness to oneself, acceptance, and an ability to forgive and forget, resilience, and trust and faith in a higher power –are the very traits that will hold any trader in good stead, through buoyancies and crashes, and will ensure that he does not lose his peace of mind and become a victim of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Diversity at the workplace has led to an increase in interaction between colleagues o the opposite sex- so much so, that these days, it just seem to make eminent sense to have a purely platonic girlfriend or boyfriend at the office – a “work spouse,” if you will.

Having a work spouse is more than simple jokes and fun, as they are uniquely bonded individuals who can relate and provide emotional support during stressful times. Even tough by pure definition, work-spouse relationships are platonic. It`s the latent possibility for hanky panky that makes relationship experts wary of such associations. It is too easy for any boy-girl kind of relationships to morph into a dangerous affair.
