The quantity and quality of education in India at every level is
woeful; we figure nowwhere in the world rankings of school and university
education, and 26% of Indians are still illiterate. If the rest of the world
and especially Asian countries have forged ahead, it is because after 1945
they took care of education. The Governmen`s record on public health is
equily abysmal. It expenditure on health is $43 per capita campared to
$87 in Sri Lanka. this is the lowest of the BRIC countries, amounting
to less than2% of GDP. More than food security bills and MGNEREGA, we n
need universal health coverage.
